Things I Have Learned from My Snapping Turtle
Posted by Pare under Aminals, Gratitude, Lists, Reminders | Tags: amphibians, lessons |Sometimes….
- you have to stick your neck out reeeeeeeeally far to get what you want
- the giant hand in the sky is only gonna give you rotten ham, so be grateful and just eat it
- the best course of action is to simply float
(Thanks, Zebco.)

A few things:
1) Grateful for rotten ham…..awesome.
2) Don’t forget the lesson that, when the going gets tough, it’s always an option to go into your shell and drink.
3) You named your turtle after low-end fishing gear?

I had a Zebco 404 in 1983. It was magical.

I like floating. Floating and eating goldfish as fast as I can.

Damn strait about that mother fucking ham. Sometimes you get the fish and no zebco and you can only eat for a day…unless you are me and you’re allergic to fish.

My (stolen) mantra is:
Float More, Steer Less
Love More, Fear Less
I’ll say it 50 times in a row if I have to. It’s kind of like the serenity prayer for heathens like me…
Oh, and, I love turtles. I have one tattooed on my back. Thankfully, it doesn’t snap.
